From 11hrs to 20hrs on Saturday 24th June & Sunday 25th June we welcome everyone to our free Sounds Of Latimer event in London W10 6SW.
A unique audio installation in the concrete halls of Maxilla Memorial Space, out side Maxilla Social Club. With the unusual acoustics of the Westway Flyover a selection of speakers project a curated audio exhibition, exploring the history of the immediate area, the social changes, landmark events & common points of unity between the two estates that now house thousands of residents from all cultural backgrounds in this vivacious corner of North West London UK.
Surrounding the Soundscape there’s the Festival Of Small Events, local history guided tours, open Artist Studios, Theatrical performances, Spoken Word events & big Ear shape models for the kids to make with Sophie Lodge. All of these activities sit alongside the annual Kensington & Chelsea Art Week, displaying a collection of public art in the immediate vicinity.
TFL Latimer Road Underground Station is the nearest train station. London buses routes 295 & 316 offer easy access to the event from Clapham Junction, White City, Cricklewood & Ladbroke Grove. It’s also a short walk from Holland Park & London’s famous Portobello Road Market, it’s so easy to make a day out adventure with the family or a great meeting point for friends on a sunny afternoon.
Lots to learn & great opportunities for Instagram pics. If you love what we do, tell your friends.
