How tempting it would be
To live in the comfort of this state
Loss and triumph - indistinguishable in amber
But fossils lack the action
The flutter and the spark
Their pen can’t write what’s to come
So I take a step - uncrystallised
Ignorant yet eager
With each breath, the air
Fills me with fuel and future

Poet’s statement

I’m a journalist and copywriter with a lifelong passion for cinema - which I cover as a film critic -
and literature. I’ve written articles for various publications over the years - both in the UK and my native Brazil - as well as short stories. Having recently started writing poems, I’m now working on my first poetry collection.
